MSGOP Congratulates Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 18, 2013
The Mississippi Republican Party congratulates Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves on being elected Chairman of the Republican Lieutenant Governors Association.
“It is no surprise that Tate was chosen to lead the RLGA during this important time” said MSGOP chairman Joe Nosef. “Other GOP lieutenant governors across the country realize what we in Mississippi have known for quite some time: Tate is a strong leader and public servant who has fought for years to successfully advance conservative values. The RLGA is fortunate to have Lt. Gov. Reeves in this role.”
“Shaping strong, conservative policies to move states forward is an essential role of lieutenant governors, and I look forward to helping elect more leaders into office,” Lt. Gov. Reeves said. “I appreciate the support and confidence of my fellow Republican lieutenant governors who are working hard to create jobs for their constituents and control wasteful spending.”
The RLGA is the only national organization whose mission is to elect Republican lieutenant governors. The RLGA provides lieutenant governors and candidates with financial support and assists in message development. More than any other statewide office, lieutenant governors later serve as Governors. Lieutenant governors also regularly become U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives. The RLGA currently claims 30 of the 45 lieutenant governor offices nationwide, a record number for the organization.
